Summer 2001

I can't believe how fast the summer flew by! I wish that I would have posted more but I have had my hands full for the last three months =) I finally feel like I have things under control....for the time being. We tried to get outside as much as possible to enjoy the warm weather while it was here. Staying at home with my boys is all I hoped for a more. I LOVE spending each day with them! Teaching Caleb new things and cuddling with Andrew every opportunity I get has been such a deep blessing. My heart has never felt this full. Christian has been such an amazing dad and husband to all of us. Andrew loves his Donald Duck voice, Caleb can't get enough of his "trrrruck!", and I love that he does the dishes and puts the kids to bed with me after dinner =)

Andrew Edwards

Andrew Christopher Edwards arrived two weeks earlier than the doctors predicted but right on time in my eyes! I had been having pretty intense Braxton Hicks for a week and I was extremely uncomfortable. On Sunday afternoon I met some friends for a baby shower lunch and I started having frequent but irregular contractions. At the time I thought they were Braxton hicks. By 7:00 I knew that these had to be more than just Braxton hicks!! They were so painful I had to breath through them. I told Christian that I thought I was in labor and he reminded me that I had said that everyday for the last two weeks :) At 11:00 my contractions were two minutes apart. I called my doctor and she advised me to come in. Of course as soon as we got to the hospital my contractions had slowed down to six minutes apart. They checked me and I was dilated to a three. After walking around for an hour they checked me again and I had dilated to a four. Things started happening pretty fast after that! I couldn't believe the difference between this labor and my labor with Caleb. Caleb it was 21 hours of intense labor and 3 1/2 hours of painful pushing. Andrew came in five short hours and popped right out after five pushes :) Both had the same prize in the end though, a beautiful healthy baby boy!!

Mothers Day

I am filled with gratitude with the amazing gift of being a mother. I feel blessed that God would give me the responsibility of raising a child to know and love Him. I feel challenged but excited about this full time position. I have four more weeks of work left and then I will officially be a "stay at home mom". I have mixed feeling about this and would love any advice or encouragement available!

Caleb Happenings

I have been so busy with life that I have not blogged about all the amazing milestones that Caleb has accomplished!! There are so many stories that go along with these pictures but I know that If I don't make it short and sweet I will keep putting it off.

Caleb ran a really high fever for a week that scared me to death! At the end of the fifth day he broke out into a rash all over his body which is a tall tale sign for roseola (I didn't know this until calling the doctor in a panic!)

I started on Caleb's new big boy toddler room. More pictures to come!!

I can't work in the kitchen anymore without Caleb finding some new adventure to discover.

Caleb's hair has been cut several times but this was his first professional cut :)

We scored big on our last groupon purchase! We went with friends to dinner and a show in Reno. We got a MAJIOR upgrade on our room! It was a blast!!!

We have so much snow!! You can't tell by this picture but caleb loves to play in the snow now :)

My New Favorite Jeans

I posted awhile ago about my goal for my 30th birthday. It was my goal to be able to fit back into my favorite pair of jeans.... I turned 30 yesterday. As I got ready for my birthday dinner with Christian I realized that I did in fact make that goal..... I fit into my NEW favorite pair of jeans- my maternity jeans :) this baby boy brings a smile to my heart with each flutter and kick that no pair of skinny jeans ever could! So I celebrate my next step in life this morning with another piece of my delicious chocolate birthday cake!

Yesterday was so fun!! Christian was able to take a half day at work and we went snowshoeing to Donner Lake. That night Christian surprised me with dinner at Northstar with some of my favorite friends!!

A snowy weekend

What a fun long weekend!! My family was able to come up and rent a cabin for my 30th birthday. We had a lot of fun playing in the snow, swimming, eating Seljuks food, and my favorite coffee time. :) Christian planned a surprise dinner for me on Saturday night with "live entertainment"!! He had a real cowboy come by and desire cowboy poems around the fire for us. It was really fun and thoughtful!! We also had some friends come by on Presidents Day and play in the snow! Mini Van Mama

With the new addition to the Edwards Family we decided it was high time we got a family car. Yes, I am aware of how nerdy I will look as a "mini van Mama", BUT I have to say this is by far my most favorite car I have owned!! It is so comfortable and spacious. It drives so smoothly and I love the fact that we can fit our whole family plus any guests that come to visit! Hint hint!!

After a whole day a car shopping Caleb was OUT as soon as we left the dealership!

The weather here has been SO awesome! It's been warm and sunny since New Years. This is the first winter we have had that we were able to see the ground through patches of snow. Caleb is taking advantage of that fact by playing outside as much as possible!

There is still a little bit of snow in our back yard but Caleb is starting to get use to the crawling and sinking effects that snow has. As long as he is able to keep his gloves on he enjoys it.

We are having a .............................................................. BOY!!!!!

Wow, what a fast 20 weeks!! I can't believe that I am already halfway through this pregnancy! I haven't blogged or facebooked about this pregnancy yet because it has gone by so fast that I reached the halfway point without even realizing it. This pregnancy has been SO different. I think a lot of that was due to the fact that I was still nursing through the first trimester. I don't recommend this to anyone, it was quite painful! However, the one good thing that came out of that was I have not put on a single pound since becoming pregnant! The doctor said that it was perfectly safe as long as the baby was still growing, which he is =) The baby measured 11ounces! I will post more pictures this weekend of the ultra sound. Here are a few pictures below of the big event plus one at our celebratory dinner.

Dress Up

This last weekend we went on Caleb's first plane ride! We flew from Reno to LAX for Laura's wedding. I was really nervous but it turns out I had a harder time with the flight than Caleb! Never again will I fly with a head cold! Laura and Kris's wedding was tons of fun. Caleb and I both ended up getting even more sick from all the excitement but it was defiantly worth it!

For Halloween I took Caleb to school and we both got to walk in the Glenshire Halloween Parade! Caleb was a lobster and I was a customer at Red Lobster =)

Caleb is almost 10 months!! He is army crawling all over and babbling like crazy. He seems to have developed his father's sense of humor and laughs at any and all funny body noises. He has 8 teeth! I can't believe how lucky we are to have such a bundle of love!

Caleb and I joined Christian in his last hunt for Archery season. It was really fun to camp in the middle of the forest with so much nature to explore!

I would like to point out that Caleb's finger is actually IN Sofia's ear! I promise I have not let Christian teach him wet willy's....yet =)

This is Caleb's new favorite toy. He loves to honk the horn and get Dixie to come charging over to investigate the noise.

We have really tested out the four wheel drive capacity on our stroller!

This is the train that we hear from our house every day/night. I've come to love the sound of the whistle blowing!

Being married, you are constantly going through mountians and valleys. Right now I feel so blessed to be on top of the mountian with Christian. I love him so much. He has surpassed my expectations in helping out since I've gone back to work. He has been SO encouraging and loving. My heart is full!

Caleb has had a fever and runny nose for the past couple of days. I've started to understand what it means to sacrifice as a mom since this is my last week of summer and I've had to cancel several plans with friends. However, as I was watching him go to town jumping around in his jumper, I thought to myself.... this kid does NOT look sick. His symptoms are runny nose, fever and dry cough. But, he also has a constant stream of drool and his whole fist shoved in his mouth...... sick or teething. That is the question!

Puppies

Dixie was a champ! She started labor around 1:30 in the morning and just finished delivering her last pup at 10:30! She delivered 9 puppies but the last one was a still born =(. She is a wonderful mother and is resting as we speak. Enjoy the pictures- Just to warn you Christian and I both look exhausted due to the fact that it was the middle of the night!

Dedication Weekend

What an amazing feeling to dedicate your child to the Lord; promising to raise Caleb to know and love Him as best we can. As a new mom I am constantly second guessing my decisions and actions. I always think I could be doing something better but last Sunday I surrendered all my doubts and fears to Him. Christian and I feel so blessed that we can lean on our faith to guide us as parents and help us to raise Caleb to be a man of honor and integrity. We picked Caleb's name because of the story in the bible when Caleb chose to follow God wholeheartedly....that is our prayer for our son.

Caleb and I are taking swim lessons together! We have had SO much fun!

Wood Floors and More!

Since Caleb is almost to crawling age we decided having him crawl on carpet that has been a rental for 20 year would not be very sanitary. So, we are in the process of putting wood flooring into our house! I love it! Our parents came up for Caleb's dedication (more to come in next posting with pics!) and they were all troopers and helped the entire weekend! We are so blessed to have such an amazing family!

Day 4, 5, and 6!

Dear Sweetheart,Caleb and I are having a great time in Malibu! We are staying at an amazing house that over looks the ocean. The house is decorated in all beachy white, the bed covers, the couches, the walls, the chandlers, the curtains, even the wooden hickory floors are stained white. I get really nervous during coffee time!

It’s been pretty overcast here but it’s nice to have cool weather. We went on a hike yesterday along the beach cliffs. Afterwards we hung out on the beach and played in the waves. Papa has us doing P90X everyday (bring it!) and yesterday we did extreme family Yoga!
Caleb is eating and sleeping really well but misses you immensely…. So do I. I love you and I’m thinking of you often.

Caleb and I are on vacation in Southern California without Christian for 10 days. To help him feel a part of this trip I’m going to try and blog each day with pictures and tales of our great adventures.

We started out the trip early this morning around 6:00am. Papa had spent most of the previous night packing up both cars. Luckily, everything fit and we were on the road after a brief stop at Starbucks for “coffee time on the go”. Mama and I drove for the first part of the trip together. We shared memories of old high school memories and friends. Then we stopped for breakfast and I moved into Papa’s car. Papa and I spent most of the time talking about the stories that we were listening to on our iphones. After lunch Kelea and I got to drive together the rest of the way to L.A.

Once we got there we checked into the hotel room and headed over to Beebo and Nell's place. We swam in thier pool and BBQ'ed for dinner. Nell's parents flew down for the weekend from Washington to see Beebo play volleyball this weekend.

We miss you sweetheart!! I hope you have a great day!!

Forth of July!

Once again Forth of July was a hit! We had so much fun spending time with family. We were able to swim, relax and spend time together. Caleb had a blast and actually enjoyed swimming this time! He splashed around in the pool for hours. Caleb is now six months old!

Caleb Loves Camping

We had so much fun this weekend camping with our friends Ryan and Marea. It was Caleb's first camping trip and he handled it like a champ! It was a beautiful location about 10 min. from our house. Christian caught two fish and I even caught one! My fish somehow managed to safely swim away....=)

Father's Day was a blast! We went down to Oakdale once again and spent the whole weekend enjoying the company of our favorite people- our family.
The big surprise this weekend was to see Caleb start to sit up on his own! I can't believe how much he is growing! He also has his first two teeth that just came in and has been enjoying chopping on everything in sight!

The weather is amazing up here in the mountains. We took Caleb on his first hike today and he had so much fun for the 5 minutes that he was wake for. =) It was defiantly good to get out and enjoy God's creation. Today reminded me of why we love living in the Tahoe Basin. What a way to spend a relaxing Sunday!

4 Months Already!

Caleb is the light of my life right now! He is growing so much! He smiles at everything and can grab onto things much easier now (including Mama's hair!). I came home for lunch yesterday and was playing with him when all of a sudden.... He laughed!! Not a little chuckle but a full forced laugh!! I couldn't help myself, I burst into tears. It was the most precious sound I have ever heard! I am praying that he continues to grow in his character and personality. He is such a fun little love bug! After Bath Photo Shoot

This is a photo shoot I had with Caleb after his bath last night. It's a lot of the same pictures but I wanted to show you how his personality is coming out! Here are a few of the things I've noticed.

Caleb's smile melts my heart. I've recently read an article about how a mother can get addicted to her child's smile because of the pleasure waves it sends to her brain. I completely agree with this! Caleb and I can spend a whole hour smiling at each other! I smile.... he smiles back at me... he smiles at me.... I smile back at him.... back and forth. I don't think I've stared at one thing for as long as I watch Caleb's smile before. It's perfect! This picture catches the end of his smile- I can't seem to catch on camera the magnitude of how his face lights up and the deepening of the two dimples on the right of his mouth. It takes my breath away!

This picture catches his expression he makes whenever he is listening to anyone talk. He's so interested in any new face and the noises that come out of it =)This picture catches his full chubby cheeks!!This is Caleb in the fist sucking zone. He has started to become fascinated with his hands! He likes to grab them and will concentrate so hard on figuring out how to get them into his mouth.This is his "I'm sleepy, Mama" expression. I know this means pick me up, I'm ready to cuddle and go to bed.

First Day Back

Caleb and I had a horrible, no good, very bad week! My first week back to work started out with a bang and never stopped. The day before I went back to work our daycare provider called and said that she was not feeling well and couldn't take care of Caleb that week. Then I came down with the flu and felt horrible. Then Caleb started throwing up and could not stop. We took him to the emergency room that night and they hooked him up to an I.V. because he was extremely dehydrated. It was horrible to see him so lifeless, they poked and prodded him with needles and he didn't even cry he was so out of it. They took blood samples and x-rays. I could barely sleep that night for fear that he would start to get worse. Luckily Christian had already cleared his schedule to stay home with Caleb that day or I don't think I would have been able to leave on my first day back. I was tired and sick and just wanted to be with my baby. After school I rushed back to the hospital to meet up with Christian and Caleb. They ended up putting a tube down his throat so he could swallow ink and they could track his digestive process. Caleb DID NOT like that! Thank goodness everything turned out in working order and they said that he must just have a bad virus. He only ate 2 ounces that day. He is feeling a lot better but still will not eat from the bottle. We are taking this weekend easy in hopes that next week will be a lot less eventful.

On a lighter note Caleb is growing like crazy and I have the picture to prove it! =) He is up to 14 pounds already! He is smiling away at everything, especially Dixie! He says Ba and Ga. He blows tons of bubbles and drools like crazy. He loves to suck on his fist. He hates tummy time but will tolerate it if Dixie lies in front of him and puts her gigantic head at his eye level for a good old fashion staring contest. He is becoming at little too interested in the T.V.! He is starting to laugh... it's more of a chuckle really. This is by far my favorite stage! It's been so so so fun!!

What do you think..... does he look like me??!! Caleb LOVES this book. It's called Little Blue Truck. He smiles and does his little chuckle everytime he sees his favorite character.... the big strong green frog! SO CUTE!! =)

Noni and Papa's Train Visit

Nonie and Papa came for a visit last weekend and rode in on the Train. Caleb had lots of fun picking them up! We had tons of fun going on walks, eating at nice resterants, and just hanging out!

Our good friends Rich and Lindsey came up on Saturday for a visit. We were able to see Abby for the first time and get some tummy time pictures! One of Caleb and my favorite things to do on the weekends is climb into bed with Daddy in the morning and snuggle.

Caleb's First Road Trip

We left for on our first road trip to Oregon last Thursday. I was really excited to spend four whole days with my two favorite boys! I went to Babies-R-Us before the trip and spent the rest of my babyshower money on car toys for Caleb. I wanted him to have as much fun on the road as Christian and I =)

Our first stop was in a little town in Oregon called Grants Pass. We loved this place because the hotel upgraded us for free to a top story room with a fireplace and a huge balcony overlooking the river.

We went on a walk down the river and found a great restaurant that had amazing views

Christian was super dad all weekend. He took us out to dinner at PF Changs and hiking at Mt. Loma Falls

The wedding was beautiful and we had tons of fun catching up with old friends I FINALLY have a boy in my life who likes to dance

My Favorite Jeans

I am turning 29 today. It will be the last and best year of my "20's". Since this will be the ending of an era I want to go out with a bang! I have so many dreams and goals for this year but today I'm thinking of only one goal.... by the end of this year I want to be able to fit back into my favorite pair of jeans! I had a great wardrobe that I have slowly grown out of since being married and I miss it. SO this year’s goal is to fit into my favorite pair of jeans and wear them to my 30th birthday party. =) That will defiantly be something to celebrate!

On Thursday Christian, Caleb and I drove down to Moraga to go to Grandma Penny's funeral. It was such an amazing service. Everyone from the Edwards family pulled together and really made it a celebration of her life. Here are a few pictures....

We left after the funeral and drove back up to Tahoe for a birthday weekend with my family. My mom rented a cabin on the west shore. It was fun to have my whole family together!! Here are a few pictures.....

Highschool Get Togethers

Caleb and I drove down to Auburn last Thursday and met up with my old high school friends Becky and Jenny. We had fun catching up and letting our little ones play together. Aava and Gabe (the two kiddo's on the bottom) got to exchange valentine cards- so cute! Grady and Caleb are only four months apart. Jenny and I are excited for the day they can actually play together. I love that it's been almost 11 years since high school and I still love these girls to death. My heart is torn up here in Truckee. Every time I visit Oakdale I think about how much I wish I lived near family again. Every time I visit Auburn/Grass Valley I wish I lived closer to my old friends. But when I am home and enjoying the fresh mountain air I can't think of living anywhere else. I've come to the conclusion that I have such special people in my life and I just need to enjoy each moment I have with them and love each memory we make when we're together.

But He's Worth It =)

What a difference! I decided after having tortured my heart long enough to take action into my own hands. I would look around and see Caleb surrounded with happy cooing babies and think; "What the hec am I doing wrong?!" So after researching, reading and talking to other moms here was my plan of attack:

1. He is now on a sleeping and eating schedule (which I have to say I was pretty against at first)

2. I have changed my diet to eliminate: dairy, chocolate, citrus fruit, gassy veggies, caffeine and alcohol

3. I'm drinking peppermint, ginger, and chamomile tea

4. I'm taking an acidophilus supplement

I know this seems a little excessive but Caleb is SO worth it! I have had a happy cooing baby for a week now and I LOVE it! The hardest part is the diet. I love cheese and chocolate (not together!) and I miss my morning coffee like no other.... and I was really looking forward to my glass of wine at dinners again! But again... to see Caleb wake and not screaming in pain.... He's worth it!!!!!! I love our baby boy!!!

I've been meaning to blog about our Truckee small group bible study. I love that we have friends up here that love the Lord and are fun to hang out with. We got together last Tuesday for a potluck before the bible study and it was so much fun! I'm excited that one of the girls just found out she is pregnant, adding another little baby to the group! So Exciting!

One Month

Caleb is officially one month old! He is growing stronger each day. He loves tummy time and taking baths. He weights 10lbs 6ozs. He's seems to have a sensitive tummy so I'm going to try and change my diet. I think the top culprits are chocolate and milk- two of my favorites = (. I'm starting to exercise again and have worked up to running 3 miles! Hopefully I will be running a half marathon in May!

Caleb will be one month old on Wednesday! As each day goes by I am more amazed that this little boy is our son. Christian and I will spend our evenings just watching him, blown away that we made something so perfect. I have defiantly had my moments... especially lately.... that I feel confused and overwhelmed on how to be a good mom. It seemed like if he's not eating or pooping, he's crying. Even in all my frustration I can't get enough of him. His smell, his noises, his soft skin, his facial expressions... priceless. I'm learning as I go and I pray that God knew what he was doing giving this precious gift for me to raise.

Pyloric Stinosis

Who knew that such a little thing could give you such a scare! Three days ago Caleb was sleeping in bed with us and I woke up to him throwing up all over me, himself and our bed! I was a little concerned because it seemed like a lot of throw up but after waking Christian up we decided that it was just a part of parenthood =). However, the next day every time I nursed him his stomach would start to convulse, he would start whimpering and then he would begin projectile vomiting everywhere. I knew something was very wrong. My sister and mother-in-law started researching different things it could be. I was a mess not knowing what to do or how to comfort him. At first we thought it might be something that I ate that was bad. I went to see the doctor that afternoon knowing in the back of my mind that we needed answers fast because he hadn't kept anything down in 24 hours and was dehydrating. The doctor was unsure of what it might be until Christian’s mom mentioned that Christian went through the same thing when he was three weeks old as well. Christians doctor had operated on his stomach because the muscle surrounding the tube going from his stomach to his intestines was overdeveloped and was closed off, keeping him from being able to digest him food. They call it Pyloric Stinosis and it is genetic, most commonly found in first born sons.... We rushed to the Truckee Hospital and quickly got an ultra sound. Sure enough Caleb had it! =( The doctor said they needed to operate right away to avoid further dehydration and referred us to a specialist in Reno. Caleb was not allowed to nurse until the surgery (which was the next morning) so I have to say that night was one of the hardest and longest in my life. His painful hunger cries were almost more than I could take. Finally the next morning we met with the surgeon and she was very reassuring. The surgery was short and simple but it hard to see my three week baby come out covered in tubes and wires. We are so thankful for all the people who were praying for Caleb and all the love and support we received from our family and friends! The doctors said depending on how he recovers we could go home the next day! God was defiantly watching over our boy because after the surgery he was able to get through the whole diet regiment without throwing up once! We are now home with our healthy happy baby!

Three Weeks Old

I can't believe how fast time has been flying by! Three weeks already! Caleb has been growing more each day. We have his second doctor’s appointment tomorrow and I'm excited to see how much he weighs. Below is a picture of Caleb after his first bath. Our cousins (Erik and Sofie) got Caleb the puppy towel he's wrapped up in. It is SO cute with his name printed on the back! The bath was full of crying, surprise pee spraying and slippery cuteness. =)

Christian's mom has come up for the week! Caleb is loving all the attention! His umbilical cord had FINALLY fell off and I am excited about giving him his first real bath! He seems to be growing bigger everyday. Christian and I tried weighing him and we think he is around 10lbs 3 ounces. I really want to try and catch one of his amazing smiles with our camera but haven't yet. I'll post as soon as I do!

What an amazing difference Caleb has made in our lives already! I can't believe how one little bundle can change our lives forever. I knew that a baby would make a huge impact on our lives but I don't think I realized the impact it would have on our family. I love to watch Christian with Caleb. Already Christian has blown me away with his love, support and comfort of helping bring this new little life into this world. He is such a good dad! We love just watching Caleb's facial expressions and imagining what he's going to grow up like. Already he is full of character! I know his smiles have more to do with gas than anything but I love that he is full of them! He has two little dimples and a crooked smile that melts my heart each time they show up. Christian and I have come up with a few nick names already but none that have really stuck yet. His first was "Our little taradactle" because of his cry that reminded us of exactly that! I call him "Caleb Crockett" because of his adventures outside already get the best smiles out of him! Christian calls him "His little Duck".... I think we all know why =)

We have had some great visitors and support from family. My mom came to stay with us for a few days and filled our fridge with the most amazing meals! Heather and Adam were the first to get Caleb out of the house and to his first coffee shop. Linnette and Tammy stopped by and treated us to an amazing night of pictures of their trip and yummy wine! Jenny and Ryan brought us dinner and cuddled with Caleb while watching American Idol.

Some of the surprises I've had with Caleb are:

1. The smell of his umbilical cord.... I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO FALL OFF.... it smells like death!

2. The spray of milk that surprises Caleb at 2:00am and waking up to a milk mustache that I was too tired to wipe up from the night before.

3. How mad he can get if he doesn't get his food RIGHT NOW!

4. How cute his facial expressions are!

5. How my emotions can soar high and fall in a matter of minutes

6. How he knows exactly when I'm changing his diaper and can have explosive poop and pee at the SAME TIME!

7. How much love he draws from my heart

I can honestly say I LOVE being a mom and I look forward to each new day with him. I am praying constantly for guidance. Please pray for Caleb and his growth towards knowing how powerful God's love for him is!

He's here!! Caleb Jonathon Edwards arrived two weeks early but is healthy and happy. He is 7lbs 15 ounces, 20 1/4 inches long. He has HUGE hands and feet to grow into. He came out with a full head of dark brown hair like his dad.

Caleb's Birth Story

Last Friday Christian and I spent the New Year cleaning and organizing Caleb's room and putting in the car seat. Then Saturday afternoon we decided to treat ourselves to a movie matinee down in Reno. Right before we left I decided to throw our hospital bag in the backseat. I never thought in a million years we would actually need it an hour later! We were just starting the movie when all of a sudden my water broke! Christian and I both were crazy with excitement and nerves. We raced to the hospital and spent the next 22 hours in labor! I really wanted to go all natural but after 11 1/2 hours of going from the birthing ball to the bathtub and back to the bed I broke down and got an epidural.... it was the BEST thing I ever did!! It made the whole experience SO much easier! I ended up falling asleep and getting rest before pushing for 3 1/2 hours. It was all worth it when he showed up on Sunday, January 3rd! I know that every mother says this but he is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen! It is so amazing the love that coming rushing out of my heart every time I look at him! I had an amazing baby shower that my sister Valerie threw for me last weekend. The theme was "Sweet Baby"! There were tons of bright colors and beautiful decorations. She made delicious homemade deserts and I have to say it was the sweetest baby shower I have ever been too! =)

We chose the name Caleb because:

2#: Caleb was a man who "followed God wholeheartedly" and that's what we are praying our son will be known for as well.

I am entering my last week of my second trimester. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by! I still feel really good and I love feeling Caleb move around. We started working on his bedroom a couple weeks ago. I wanted to wait until it was finished to post pictures but I couldn't wait. Christian did a great job coming up with the idea for the painting and the wood trim. I can't wait to see what it looks like completely finished!

It's really happening!!! =) This is the by far the most exciting time in our lives! Christian and I have never been happier. This will defiantly be a time in our life that we'll look back on with incredibly fond memories. This last weekend made Caleb's arrival seem even more real. We went to Babies R US to register. It was so fun! Our sister's Valerie and Kelsea came with us. Val had GREAT advice being a mom of three and it was really fun to get to register at the same time as Kels. Christian was most excited about getting to toys for Caleb..... somehow I didn't think we needed a potty shaped as a truck quite yet. =) Christian thought the truck noises coming from the potty would have Caleb wanting to use it by 6 months.
My mom is a avid Ross shopper and got this amazing deal on this winter jumper, which I thought was SOOOOOO cute! Caleb is ready for the snow! She has been spoiling Kelsea and I, she makes a very good Gra-ma!

We are so blessed to have such a giving family! Valerie gave us Landon's (her youngest baby boy) baby clothes and shoes. I was so excited to get home and sort through everything!! The hat to the left she just bought for Caleb (I want to get a matching one for Christian and I!) Check out the tiger shoes! SO CUTE!

Tahoe Girls and Grady's arival

Fall is one of my favorite seasons so when I set out this morning; hot coffee in hand, cool crisp air blowing and the orangey red leaves floating around me I had to give credit to God for the perfect start to an amazing day! I met my friends Rebecka (far left) and Jenny(hot pink shirt) and we set off for a breakfast cruise on the Tahoe Gal. It was SOOO fun! We met up with a bunch of women from our church and sailed the shores of west Lake Tahoe while eating a delicious homemade breakfast. I love that I'm making such good friends up here! Below is a group of girls that I slowly started to get to know because we are all at the same stages in life, but have become good friends with because of their amazing fun loving hearts for Jesus.

Grady's much anticipated arrival is here!!! Jenny has such an easy delivery which has given me hope for Caleb's due date. =) He is SO cute.... and SO tiny!! When I got to the hospital Jenny was already up and smiling. She is one amazing mama! Becky met me at the hospital and I got to see her in her 8th week! There is only one baby, which I'm bummed about but I'm sure she's breathing a sigh of relief =)

Christian and I spent Labor Day Weekend in South Lake Tahoe with my sister and her family. It was a lot of fun to see Billy play softball and hang out with his side of the family.

We were able to stay at Linnette's (Christian's sister) cabin and enjoy a mini vacation for a couple of days. It was fun to spend the night just the two of us! We played bocce ball, watched the fire works from South Shore, took Dixie swimming in the lake, bbq'd an amazing dinner and relaxed in the hot tub (don't worry I just had my feet in!).

The farther along I get in this pregnancy the more amazed I am. Feeling our baby move and wiggle inside me is breathtaking. I feel so blessed by God's gift of this child! I have always wanted to describe in some way the deep love between Christian and I and the way that God has twined us together as ONE..... now I can.... every time I feel what we have made together move inside of me!

When we went to the doctor yesterday and found out what we were having I couldn't believe it! I was caught off guard and excited all at the same time. When we were leaving I asked Christian how he felt...... "Overwhelmed!" he said. I couldn't have said it better myself. We are SO overwhelmed! Overwhelmed with joy, love, excitement, fear, relief, anxiety, happiness! Every possible feeling has passed through me, overflowing my heart with fulfillment!

My sister and I are 3 weeks apart and I have LOVED being pregnant with my sissy! Kelsea found out what she is having last Friday..... it's a boy! We are so excited for her! I have about three more weeks to go before we find out what baby Edwards is. I can't wait, I'm so excited! The doctor thinks it's a girl because the heart rate was 157 at my last appointment. I felt the baby for the first time and it was AMAZING! It made everything so real and special. I can't wait to feel him/her again!

I kissed Christian goodbye Friday at 3:00am and told him to be careful!! He was heading off for a fun filled weekend backpacking with the boys. It's funny how it takes our husbands setting off on their own to get the old high school girls together. We are sooooo lucky that all of our very unique husbands all get along, and would want to spend time together without us! =) Because of their trip it inspired us to get together for our own girls weekend. I can't remember the last time we hung out with out them... high school maybe?! Here are a few pictures of our weekend. We did what we do best... talk, cook, talk, eat, talk, relax, laugh, and talk. Youglife + prego update

Saturday night we had a bunch of kids over for a bbq. Our plan was to lure them into going to camp this summer. It worked!! They are really excited! Please pray God will totally bless these kids and that they will open their hearts to everything God has to say to them that week!

Pregnancy Update:

On Friday I will be 8 weeks!! Yeah! I can't believe how slow it's going! Not because I'm not completely enjoying each second!! I just can't wait to be able to feel and look pregnant =) This baby is already such a special and amazing part of our lives. I feel so much more for him/her everyday! I'm not feeling sick at all but I do get find myself hitting a exhaustion wall a couple times a day! I am also having pretty bad cramping, which my sister assures me is normal. Thanks sissy! =) I know it's to early but I swear I have a baby bump already =) I can only feel it when I am cramping and then my abdomen gets really hard and I can feel a small bump really low on my belly! The first time I felt it it was sooooo amazing! I made Christian feel it ten times that night. I'm changing my mind everyday on if I think it's a boy or girl. Most of the time I am leaning towards boy (Mother's intuition) but I will be soooo happy with either! I have my first doctors appointment on Monday! We are going to be able to hear the heart beat!! I'm so excited! Stay tuned for more updates next week!

Over the memorial day weekend Christian and I decided to go hiking near Ice Lake. Here are a few pictures of our adventurous day....

We found a beautiful river that Christian decided was perfect to fly fish so we stopped for a picnic lunch and while Christian fished, Dixie and I had fun in the water.

Sunday afternoon after church we drove to the lake and had an awesome lunch at Bridge Tender.

Waking up to someone you love so much and knowing that they are yours forever.... is unexplainable! Too excited to sleep Christian woke me up Saturday morning with his first valentines gift. We had coffee time in our PJ's and talked about all of our past Valentines Day adventures. We spent a couple hours on the phone wishing everyone in our families Happy Valentines Day and even a couple birthday wishes as well! Then we decided to go for a walk with Dixie in the snow. Nothing like a winter wonderland to set the romantic mood!

I wanted to show off my snow angel skills to my sweetheart but.... Dixie thought she could do a better job and jumped all over me to prove it!
Dixie is soooo much fun in the snow! We can not get her to hold still for a second. She has even learned how to slid down a snow mound by herself! We are so proud =)

I started breakfast when we go back. I wanted to try something new.... it didn't exactly turn out the way I had hoped.....

Christian decided he wanted to cook me dinner. He wanted to make beer can chicken, his specialty

Usually he uses smaller game hens instead of a whole chicken so he wasn't prepared for......

the whole chicken to catch on fire! He managed to singe his eyebrows and the front of his hair. At this point I was laughing to hard to help..... I decided to take pictures instead =)

I decided to make a blueberry pie for desert.... it turned out pretty good! here's the recipe!

Ingredients
5 cups fresh blueberries
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon sugar
Directions
1SPRINKLE berries with lemon juice; set aside.
2FIT half of pastry in a 9-inch pieplate according to package directions.
3COMBINE 1 cup sugar and next 3 ingredients; add to berries, stirring well.
4Pour into crust (I make my own crust but to save time you can buy the premade pastry crust at the store and it's just as good), and dot with butter.
5Roll out remaining pastry on a lightly floured surface; roll gently with rolling pin

6Place crust over filling; seal and crimp edges.
7Cut slits in top of crust to allow steam to escape.
8Brush top of pie crust with beaten egg, and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sugar BAKE at 375° for one hour 9Cover edges with aluminum foil to prevent overbrowning

10Serve with vanilla ice cream, Christian's favorite!

My Birthday Present!

My birthday is just around the bend and Christian being the most amazing husband that he is wanted to get a head start on my birthday present. When he asked me what I wanted I didn't hesitate for a second.... a new dining room table light! I wanted something simple that would go with the mountain cabin feel... Christian wanted something that was more manly. Anything was better than that old 70's balloon chandelier! Yuck!
We found the perfect compromise at Lowes and we able to use the last of our wedding gift certificate and a 10% off coupon to get a great deal! I love birthdays!

Jewels and Angie drove up for the weekend and I can hardly believe it's been 6 years since we graduated college! We talked and laughed and then talked some more! I love reminiscing about fun stories and memories that will keep us bonded together for life. Thanks girls for such a great weekend!

Christian and I went snowboarding/skiing for the first time this winter last Sunday. Christian was awesome! He even managed to do a flip (accidentally of course!) and landed on his shoulder! Ouch! I have to say I was really nervous on the first run and had to take my ski's off and walk halfway down the mountain. But after that Christian took me to the bunny slopes and I had a great time! Slowly but surely is what I say. Christian keeps telling me that by the end of the season I'll be a pro.... hmmmm

Beebo's Getting Married!

For those of you who don't know.... my little brother Braidy is getting married in a month! We are so excited to welcome Danielle into our family! She has a very loving and kind heart and best of all she makes our Beebo SO happy. I wish all the happiness in the world to them and I can't wait till the 31!

For Christmas Christian and I bought each other snowshoes! We have been looking forward to using them for the past two weeks. Finally this afternoon we set aside some time to hike to Boca Lake and test them out. The weather was perfect and the shoes worked great!
"How do you shoes work Sweetheart?!"

Dixie had even more fun than we did! She LOVES the snow and bounces around us like a deer, shoving her face in and throwing her head up sending the snow flying! The whole trip she was running ahead and then running back to us, egging us to go faster.....

.............So I tackled her to the ground!

We reached the Lake just as the sun was going down

And got to enjoy one of God's Amazing Masterpieces together, He was

defiantly at his best!
